Ozark Recovery Housing LLC was established in 2019 by Dr. Sarfaraz Jasdanwala, M.D., and Andrea Jasdanwala, RN, MSN, FNP-C, in response to the growing need for safe, clean, and supportive housing for individuals undergoing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). The organization opened its first residences in Columbia, Missouri, in 2019, and expanded to Kansas City in 2021 to address the increasing demand for recovery-focused housing solutions.
In August 2021, Ozark Recovery Housing LLC became the first Recovery Housing organization in the state to introduce respite services into its Sober Living houses, further solidifying its commitment to providing comprehensive, client-centered care. This pioneering initiative underscores the organization’s dedication to bridging critical gaps in recovery support and empowering individuals on their journey to sustained wellness.
Committed to innovation and cutting-edge housing and care, Ozark Recovery Housing (ORH) collaborated with the Department of Mental Health, and five other organizations across the state in 2023, to develop a groundbreaking respite housing model. Building on its already established respite housing services, ORH was awarded a grant in 2023 to expand these services, further enhancing its ability to provide comprehensive, client-centered support for individuals in recovery.
At ORH, our mission is to provide safe, supportive, and low-barrier recovery housing where individuals can reclaim their lives with dignity—regardless of their past, financial circumstances, or how many times they’ve had to begin again.

At ORH, our mission is to provide safe, supportive, and low-barrier recovery housing where individuals can reclaim their lives with dignity—regardless of their past, financial circumstances, or how many times they’ve had to begin again.
We believe that basic needs—like shelter, safety, nourishment, and access to healthcare—must be met before anyone can pursue higher goals such as recovery, stability, and personal growth. That’s why we focus on meeting these essential needs first, creating a foundation where healing becomes possible.
Our program is unique in its non-prescriptive, person-centered philosophy. We do not define recovery for our residents—we provide the structure, support, and safety they need to define it for themselves. We respect each person’s autonomy and journey, and we welcome all models of recovery.
At ORH, we also recognize that access to resources should never be limited by what someone can afford. We are deeply committed to equity and inclusion, and we work tirelessly to find pathways to care for all—regardless of insurance status or income. We continually seek innovative partnerships with community agencies to expand access to housing, healthcare, mental health services, and recovery supports.
We are redefining recovery housing: not as a destination, but as a transformative, compassionate and collaborative space—where people are given the opportunity, support and respect to rebuild on their own terms.
